Admissions
Starting or moving school is a major step for a child and we understand this.
Here at St Margaret Mary’s School we do everything we can to ensure children and their familes feel welcome when joining our school family.
St. Margaret Mary’s is a Roman Catholic Primary School provided by the Diocese of Salford and is maintained by Manchester Local Authority as a voluntary aided primary school. As a Catholic school we are always continuing to raise the standards of education we provide and are guided by our Mission Statement which puts Christ at the heart of every activity.
Reception Admissions
For a child starting at the standard school starting age, that is the September after they are four, an application must be made directly to your local authority.
Please go to your local authorities school admissions page find out how you can apply for a reception place for your child:
Oldham - https://www.oldham.gov.uk/admissions
Manchester - https://www.manchester.gov.uk/admissions
Even if you have a nursery place for your child in school, you still need to apply for a reception place.
Nursery Admissions
A child is eligible to start in the nursery class the September AFTER their third birthday.
If you would like your child to attend our Nursery please complete an application form (this can be found below) and return to us with a copy of your child's birth and baptism certificate.
We advise that you wait until your child is at least 2 years of age before you complete the application, this is to ensure that we hold the most up to date information.
Nursery admissions are confirmed in the spring term before entry.
