Class 3B has a very full and varied week as follows:

Homework - English, Maths and Spelling Homework is given out on Fridays and is due in on Wednesdays. Our weekly spelling test will take place on Fridays. Homework is part of the curriculum and supports learning and we appreciate all your efforts to help your child to complete the tasks set. If you require any additional information or support regarding homework then please make contact with me.

Reading Books - Children should read and have their Reading Record signed everyday. The children progress wonderfully when they are read with at home. We are focusing on comprehension skills and use of expression when reading aloud. Reading books should be brought into school daily.

PE - We have P.E on a Monday afternoon and a Wednesday morning. Please ensure that the children have their P.E kit ready on these days, all labelled in order to avoid lost property.

Topic - Each half term, we have a new and exciting topic, this half term we are learning about The Festival of Lights. The children are already making wonderful progress learning about the Jewish miracle of Hanukkah and have wonderful artwork to show their understanding. Throughout the topic, we will also be exploring Diwali, Advent and Christmas. Disocvering the origins of these festivals and creating peices of writing, art and dance celebating these festivals.

Forest School- This half term, the children are lucky enough to take part in Forest school lessons every Thursday. They will be exploring and learning more about nature and what they can discover in the great outdoors. Please ensure that all children have their own clothes ready for Thursdays and that these can get dirty as the children may get muddy. Coats and jumpers are a necessity as we head into the winter months, as well as hats, scalves and gloves.  Please also ensure that the children have approprate shoes or wellingtons for these activities too. Photographs will be available on the website so you can see what the children are up to during these exciting lessons.

Our expectations are high and we strive to foster the development of the children through provision of a planned, engaging, stimulating, safe and secure environment which is structured with developmental needs in mind.  We also aim to stimulate emotional and spiritual growth.
